Bethany Quinn
Co-founder, GTFO Tours
Bethany is a relocation coach and business strategist who lives in Amsterdam with her Dutch partner Robin. The recipient of a DAFT visa, Bethany has been helping Americans who want to leave the US since 2022, when she herself moved to the Netherlands to establish her business.
Bethany has an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University with a focus on entrepreneurship and finance, and a B.A. from the University of Miami with a major in Latin American Studies. She is the quintessential global citizen, having studied abroad in Panama, Brazil, and Chile. Before relocating to the Netherlands, she worked for a union on legislation and corporate campaigns, working on everything from the Affordable Care Act to immigration reform to private equity firm engagement. She was also a founding board member of Resolve Network, a peace-building organization in Eastern Congo that runs microfinance, agricultural training, and other programs. She was the founding Chief Operating Officer at media company Rediscovering Our American Dream, and is a member of Mensa. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, loves to cook and travel, and is an avid karaoke fan.
Christopher Hughey
Founder and Managing Director, Americans Moving to Spain
Christopher was born and raised in Memphis, but very early in life decided to spread his wings and travel. He did his undergraduate degree in modern languages in Norway (with time abroad in France), later completing multiple professional certifications in everything from international business (University of Massachusetts) to project management to digital marketing.
As a serial entrepreneur and a survivor of multiple moves to and from six countries – US, Norway, France (twice), Italy, UK, and now Spain (for the second time) – Christopher founded Americans Moving to Spain in the early 2020s to demystify and simplify the process of moving abroad. He currently lived in Sevilla, Spain, with his two school-aged children.
Jana Sanchez
Co-founder, GTFO Tours
Jana is a former candidate for US Congress, who repurposed her campaign Facebook page to help Americans scrambling to figure out how to emigrate abroad. Through her social media platforms, she conducts regular calls and webinars with experts on visas, passports, living abroad and other topics helpful for her tens of thousands of followers.
As a coach and consultant, she has been advising senior executives and academics for years, and is now helping those who want to leave the US. She is a former journalist and once ran a pan-European public relations agency with partners.
Ms Sanchez has a BA in political science from Rice University and speaks English and Dutch. She lives in Haarlem, the Netherlands, with her husband and two rescue dogs.
Mia Herman

Mia Herman is a relocation consultant and travel writer with over a decade of experience exploring and writing about life and culture across Europe and beyond. As the founder of New 2 Portugal, she supports Americans relocating to Portugal with practical, personalized guidance, covering everything from visas and housing to schools, neighborhoods and cultural integration.
Ms Herman holds a degree in Communications and has spent the past decade writing about travel and culture, contributing to outlets including Forbes and USA Today Travel , and collaborating with tourism boards and international brands across Europe and the U.S.
Ms Herman has lived in France, England, Japan, and now Portugal, and brings both professional insight and personal perspective to helping others make a confident and well-informed move abroad.
Victor Gersten

Victor founded Cross Border Wealth Advisors in 2020. With 17 years of experience and two master’s degrees in business and finance from San Diego State University and the College for Financial Planning, he is an Enrolled Agent with the IRS and a Certified Financial Planner®️. In addition to running CBWA, Victor teaches finance at the university level.
Raised in Mexico City by a single mother, he is dedicated to making trustworthy financial planning accessible. Having lived in Italy, Spain, Mexico, and the United States, Victor understands what it’s like to live an international lifestyle, and is dedicated to helping clients make it work for them.
